A big thanks to Savio who was a legend on the last ZST trip , probably the biggest yet, with about 30 members from different parts of the globe, and the most Zimbos every.. We had many first's on the this trip. First Junior Member to come on Tour, first break of a bone through a Ski Boot, first off piste crash, first injury before we saw any snow , and off course first road side crash .. Check out some of our Photos in this location: Photos Coaches Message A really big thanks to all who came and supported a fantastic 5th ZST Charity Ball.We raised €3,455 - this was the most successful year to date, thanks for all your support and help once again. The Zimbabwe Ski Team As with all great sporting traditions the Zimbabwe Ski Team had humble beginings. Based in the only alpine resort in Zimbabwe, the "Matopos Apline Club", the team has been the birth place of many an international "white powder freak". Unfortunately due to the political disturbances within Zimbabwe most of the ski team now reside and "train" in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, where they keep themselves fit by playing competitive hockey. However, not all is doom and gloom. With the close proximity to the European ski resorts our fine team of honed athletes are able to regularly demonstrate their bravery and more unorthodox African Apline skills, as well as their fine off-piste communication with the local communities. We take heart from other African sporting legends who have helped pave the way to hopefully our first world cup appearance. Legends such as Eric ("The Eel") Moosimbani, who knowing he couldn't swim still managed the 100 metres at the Sydney Olympics in a new Equatorial Guinea record time. To Eric and the rest we say ...
